Day 8 – March 8th 2013
Today we go right back, way, way back in the mists of time. Sometime in the mid 1990’s an idea was born to launch a new stationery business. To be different, to be colourful and stylish and exciting. To appreciate how different would mean going back in time to the mid-90’s when your choice was limited to WH Smith or Rymans or the odd trip abroad to get a proper fix of stationery. And then in 1995 along came Bureau. OK, so it was just one shop and it never quite took over the stationery world but one day it just might. Also in 1995 there was the Kobe earthquake in Japan, the OJ Simpson trial…and Father Ted was first broadcast. As one of our favourite TV shows, today’s question is Father Ted related (additional note – we even saw this episode being filmed).
Q: What item of ‘religious stationery’ featured in an episode of Father Ted?
A: Tape dispenser – see Series 2 Episode 16, Flight into Terror.
(Ted has bought a ‘holy sellotape dispenser’ which he uses to save the plane from crashing – see the full episode here)
