I must confess to be something of a philistine when it comes to fountain pens, my preference being a ballpoint usually. However, lately I have been very happily using both the beautiful Herbin Tempete pen which writes like no other pen I have ever used and the new Lamy neon coral limited edition Safari. Now the Safari doesn’t write as smoothly as the Tempete but is a fraction of the price so that is hardly surprising but it is still a lovely pen and writes very nicely indeed. Check out the reviews on our website – average rating 5 out of 5 stars on 77 reviews so clearly a winner with our customers. The reason I was drawn to the new Lamy though was the matching ink – a brilliant idea from Lamy and one we are hoping they will continue. I don’t identify as a pink girl, black being my usual choice of colour, but I am strangely drawn to this combination and really enjoying writing my to-do lists in neon pink. Perhaps, as I am the only one in the office to convert, it is the uniqueness that appeals. Enzo Ferrari apparently insisted on only using purple ink for his signature though you’d have thought Daytona red would have been more his colour. I’m not sure what he would have made of neon pink but I like the idea of having an individual colour as well as signature for yourself in this digital age of identical phones and tablets. At least until the next tempting pen comes along anyway.
They are limited edition as is the ink and selling fast so if you think you might want one, act now cause they won’t be around for ever you know.
